ABOUT THE ARTIST

I have a passion to express color, form and texture in acrylic, watercolor or colored pencil. I began art lessons at a young age, inspired by artist-neighbors and teachers while growing up in suburbs of Kansas City, Chicago, and Buffalo, NY. I have a BFA in Communication Design from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, graduating with honors. I have received awards and scholarships throughout my educational and professional experience. Two paintings are in The Best of Colored Pencil, Volume I by Rockport Publishers, Inc.

My work experience includes graphic designer and art director for a printer and advertising agencies in Binghamton, NY and Tucson, AZ; free lancing in graphic design and illustration; painting murals; teaching weekly drawing and painting classes to children and adults as well as workshops and demonstrations.

I exhibit my work in galleries and venues through arts groups. I am a member of the Texas Watercolor Society, and in Austin, Waterloo Watercolor Group, Capitol Art Society, and the 620 Group. My husband Gene and I have two grown children. We live in Austin, Texas where I pursue my painting fulltime.
