I have a passion to express color, form and texture in acrylic, watercolor or colored pencil. I began art lessons at a young age, inspired by artist-neighbors and teachers while growing up in suburbs of Kansas City, Chicago, and Buffalo, NY. I have a BFA in Communication Design from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, graduating with honors. I have received awards and scholarships throughout my educational and professional experience. Two paintings are in The Best of Colored Pencil, Volume I by Rockport Publishers, Inc.
Thank you for distinguishing me with Waterloo’s Honorary Member Award. It has been an enriching pleasure for me to serve in many capacities for WWG.
This acrylic painting, Coreopsis on the Butler Hike & Bike Trail, is a 72” x 72” diptych which I created for my home. It was inspired by my many walks with my dog Brindle on Austin’s downtown Butler Hike and Bike Trail. The Coreopsis flowers were in a planter and that is my husband and dog on the trail at the entrance to the leash-free dog park at Auditorium Shores on Lady Bird Lake!
