HOURS: Mon - Thurs, 10am - 7pm, Fri -Sun 10am - 5pm
Members of the Capitol Art Society are in this exhibit in conjunction with Waterloo Watercolor’s 47th Fall Juried Traveling Exhibit. My watercolor painting “Cosmos and Hydrangeas” which was awarded Third Place, will be in this exhibit as well as five other paintings of mine. Juror Michael Holter, AWS, NWS, stated of this painting, “This is a more traditional watercolor. There is a nice contrast of lights and deep darks. The composition works well: the main flower is off to the right of center, with other flowers balancing it on the left. The light cool shadows and patterns within the flowers are just right and show the shapes. There is a nice variety in the shadows: some are warm, some are cool, and some have reflected light.”
Located at Texas State University - Round Rock Campus, Avery Building, 1555 University Blvd, Round Rock, Texas 78665. Floor 2 & 3 in the main atrium. (Easy to find — conveniently just down the road from the Prime Outlet Mall and IKEA.)

I am honored that my watercolor painting “Market Fruit Sellers” which won Frist Place last month in the 46th Annual Waterloo Watercolor Group’s Spring Show, was awarded Judge’s Choice in this show by Don Andrews of the Watercolor Society of America. He stated, “"I just love the organization of the backlighting behind the figures - who are just waiting for a customer to come by. All of the fruits and all of the background is wonderfully handled in that nothing takes away from the expressions and the gestures of the figures. Wonderful watercolor painting."
Ric Dentinger was the judge in last months’ show and he said about this painting, "The values are fantastic in this painting. The darks and lights are strong, particularly the light behind the man. Confidence comes through. The artist knows where she is going with the colors and brushstrokes and knows where to take the viewer's attention. The storytelling is good."
